Connecting to custom servers on consoles requires a small workaround, as consoles do not allow direct server IP input. Here are common methods:
DNS Trick (Recommended)
This method involves changing your console's DNS settings to redirect to a public server list, which then allows you to connect to custom IPs.
- On your console, go to your **Network Settings**.
- Find **DNS Settings** (sometimes under Advanced Settings or Manual Setup).
- Change your **Primary DNS** to:
104.238.130.180
(This is a common public DNS for BedrockConnect. **Please replace with a known working IP if you have one and this one does not work.**) - Set your **Secondary DNS** to
8.8.8.8
(Google's public DNS) or leave it blank if not required. - Save the settings and test your internet connection.
- Open Minecraft Bedrock Edition. Go to the "Servers" tab.
- You should now see a list of featured servers. Click on any one. If you do join the actual server and don't see a prompt to enter a server ip, try a diferent one. If all of them don't work, use a different DNS
- Once connected to the custom server list, you can enter our Vanilla+ server address:
(mc.toadhead.net)
and the port(19132)
.
Important: You may need to revert your DNS settings to automatic after playing on custom servers if it causes issues with other online games or services.
